When people ask me how long I've been leather working for, I have a hard time answering. As a form of art, I feel like the answer is always. As a creative behind this sustainable leather shop Toronto I feel it important to express how much artistic and creative work goes into each piece as functional art rather than just a bag, belt or wallet.
Why should we feel the need to purge our lives of attachment when it brings us such pure comfort and happiness? Sustainable, slow, ethical and intentional fashion is not just about the benefits it brings to the world. We may think it's selfish to think of the benefits for ourselves, but they are important. It's more than just a bag it's a collection of memories and life's experiences.
The best thing about my business as a Canadian leather company isn't what I create, or what medium I work with. It is you. My clients, my friends and my community. You include me in some of the best and most cherished moments of your life through what I create and for that, I am so grateful.

The following is a Q&A interview I did with CJ as we discuss entrepreneurship, creative work, hobbies and starting a fashion brand with a disability.
As a small business, we constantly evaluate risk and make assessments on possible outcomes. It's important to have a contingency plan in place. But I think it's safe to say that no business owner was fully prepared for the 2020 global health pandemic. If 2020 taught us nothing else, it is to expect the unexpected! Small businesses have struggled. Too many fellow business owners have been forced to close the doors on their dreams. It is truly heartbreaking. We have all made immense sacrifices this year in the name of health and safety for the ones we love, for the ones at risk, for our overwhelmed frontline workers and for our fellow humans.
