Toronto Star // Yes, holiday craft shows are cancelled in Toronto, but we have the top finds from online marketplaces
The HandMade for the Holidays market usually brings together more than 200 artisans at a convention centre in Niagara Falls. This year, this well-curated group is online at handmademarket.ca. The lineup includes Sadelmager Design House, a small-batch leather bag crafter from North York. This messenger bag makes a powerful statement while keeping form and functionality in mind. Available in oxblood or black.
One of a Kind Show // The Journey of Craft
Join The Great Canadian Baking Show’s Colin Asuncion for an insightful look at the art of leather working. He will be joined by Jesse of Solid Leather and Becca of Sadelmager for a lively discussion on their paths in becoming leather workers.
No longer does a quick weekend getaway in Ontario mean joining throngs of tourists in Niagara on the Lake. There’s plenty of fun, food and wine to be had just two hours east of Toronto in Prince Edward County. Start the car (fly first, if you must).
Artisan made all of the products from Relic Leather Co. start in a sketchbook and are then hand designed, patterned, cut, edged and dyed. They are then sewn by machine or by hand (although most of the sewing is done by hand). Each piece is handcrafted in small batches and each product is ensured to have the highest standards for quality. Due to the nature of their make, these items are unique and they all slightly differ in their own little way. Most of our items are limited editions.
