A question asked by a lot of our customers is what does it mean that our leather belts at Sadelmager are “true to fit”, and why are they not based on standard pant sizes?
To answer that question, it all starts with our philosophy as a Canadian leather company. At Sadelmager I look to provide you with the best sustainable leather goods, presenting you with a variety of options in colours, hardware, and styles to create something that is truly unique to you, and with our “true to fit” sizing, something that is undoubtedly a bespoke fit.
Pant sizes have long been a number that many hold to define themselves by. Whether you’re proud of that number or not, we have let those numbers consume us from the inside. We should be worrying less about the inches, but instead think about what fits true to your body and not anyone else’s. Time and time again, we have let businesses define what a body should look like rather than having a business create something that truly fits each one of us perfectly. With a variety of different brands, styles, cuts and different stretches in pants, we sometimes end up with a wardrobe where not all pant sizes are even the same, so why are we still letting these varying numbers define our bodies?
The “true to fit” nature of our handcrafted leather belts lets you define what a perfect fit is for your body. I create a belt that fits around your waist in your jeans perfectly every time based on your own true waist measurement. All our leather goods including our belts are unisex. At Sadelmager, I don’t make or define anything as a men’s item or women’s item. The beauty of being a small Canadian leather shop that gets to serve you here in Toronto is that I can create art pieces that can only be described as one word, YOURS.
